The Miracle That is Fibreglass

Fibreglass has been a part of our lives for so long that it is probably hard to remember where it all began. You can get moulds for fibreglass made and you can mould this miracle material into just about anything you want to. It has been widely used for many applications because of its durability while being incredibly lightweight. Fibreglass is exactly what the name says and is made when glass is spun into long fibres and then chopped up into a resin. This mixture is then spread along the mould evenly and set. After that the raw fibreglass has to be coated in order to keep the fibres intact and from splitting and splintering. This could cause intense irritation or even inflammation of the skin which is not desirable. If you have been in contact with fibreglass on your bare skin then you will know exactly what this means and how painful it can be.
